Over 30 years, Taverne Roche has grown into a successful catering company in the community catering sector. Tavero AG is a 100% subsidiary of F. Hoffmann-La Roche. We employ around 350 people from over 37 nations at our Basel and Kaiseraugst sites.
Our offer ranges from staff restaurants that live diversity, fine dining restaurants with excellent service, cafeterias with delicacies from all over the world and coffee in all varieties, conjured up by our baristas, to the highest lounges in Switzerland, above the rooftops of the city as fantastic after-work spots as well as takeaways from sushi to burgers and the first and only club in Roche history. In our in-house Culinary Store you will find selected products, the finest delicacies from our huusgemacht line and experience our passion together with us at exciting cooking courses.
We also offer our guests meeting room and event catering for up to 1500 people. The public gastronomies, the Schöpfli in the park and the Chez Jeannot in the Museum Tinguely, complete our offer.
For July / August 2024 we are looking for a chef in the field of event catering for our new opening.
Tasks
- Provision and production of the food offer on time in the assigned work area
- Possible alternating work assignments in the various themed restaurants as well as in the staff restaurant and catering
- Respectful handling of the product
- Preparation according to recipe, incl. tasting and continuous improvement process, creativity is welcome
- Compliance with hygiene regulations (TQM / HACCP)
- Work economically to achieve the company's goals
- Manage goods safely and place internal and external orders
- Preparing food in front of the guests
- Willingness to work special shifts outside normal working hours
- Managing employees in the area of responsibility
Profile
- You have completed training as a chef (EFZ)
- You have at least 3 years of professional experience (excluding years of training)
- You have a talent for organization and a strong sense of responsibility
- You have the ability to assert yourself
- You have an independent way of working and take responsibility
- The ability to work in a team and reliability are a matter of course for you
- You have knowledge of Swiss food legislation
- You are flexible and willing to work occasional evenings and weekends
- You have a good command of written and spoken German and English to be able to advise your customers competently
- In a digital world, we also want you to be confident with computer programs (MS Office)
