The Darmstadt Student Union. More than 100 years ago, we made sure that students could feel at home in Darmstadt. Today, we offer modern services with our university catering services, halls of residence with a “feel at home” character, counseling services, intercultural events and student financing. Around 260 employees work with us every day to make studying a carefree experience.
Your tasks
You have overall responsibility for university catering in the Studierendenwerk in the sense of a profit center (not for profit). You will set goals and priorities and develop and implement attractive and sustainable catering and sales concepts. In doing so, you take into account the interests of the stakeholders, especially the students, as well as the financial framework and requirements of the Studierendenwerk. You are motivated and can tackle and implement things.
Overall management of university catering with the areas canteen, bistro, coffee bars, campus restaurant and beer garden and approx. 150 employees.
Optimization of operational processes to increase efficiency, productivity and profitability.
Ensuring profitability, quality improvement and responsibility for internal processes, costs and turnover.
Ensuring and increasing customer and guest satisfaction.
Developing and implementing innovative catering concepts and positioning university catering at the university locations.
Proactive management and leadership of teams and employees.
Project planning for construction and modernization measures in the catering facilities
Establishing and maintaining networks with (local) suppliers and producers and our relevant stakeholders
Your qualifications
Specialist in gastronomy or hotel management or business studies ideally with a focus on gastronomy and/or the hotel industry or comparable professional experience; applications from the retail and service sector with relevant professional experience are also welcome
Very good business management skills. You can collect, evaluate and interpret figures, data and facts.
Strong quality awareness and an excellent host gene.
Several years of professional experience in a management or leadership position. Preferably also from the second row of a company. Knowledge of modern management is welcome.
Confident handling of digital media and MS Office applications.
Very good written and spoken German, at least level C1.
Affinity for gastronomy and inspiring guests paired with passion and commitment.
