The VVP is the official partner of the city of Paderborn for the promotion and development of tourism. The VVP’s main areas of responsibility are tourism services and tourism marketing for the city of Paderborn.
In close coordination and cooperation with the Office for City Marketing and Public Relations and other tourism-related stakeholders, it pursues the goal of promoting tourism and thereby contributing to the positive economic development of the city of Paderborn.
The VVP currently employs ten people (including trainees).
Your tasks
Overall responsibility for the management, operational control and strategic development of VVP in line with the above-mentioned corporate objectives (finance, budgeting and controlling)
Cooperative and appreciative management of the 10 employees
Positioning and sharpening the profile of the Paderborn tourism destination
Committee work
Promoting the sustainable and future-proof development of tourism in Paderborn
Further development of the tourism service and tourist information into a modern, future-oriented service provider
Conceptual development and implementation of marketing and sales measures for day and overnight tourism as well as for Paderborn’s active tourism offers
Active and close cooperation with tourism service providers, with regional and national tourism organizations (in particular Paderborner Land and Teutoburg Forest Tourism) as well as with the Office for City Marketing and Public Relations and the Paderborn Advertising Association
Your qualifications
A successfully completed degree in tourism management, destination development, tourism geography or a comparable qualification
Several years of management experience with personnel and budget responsibility
Sound industry knowledge in the field of public tourism (DMO)
Strong communication skills and a high degree of commitment and decisiveness as well as negotiating skills and the ability to work in a team
Enjoy networking and lobbying
Project planning skills and good resource management and conceptual skills
Confident written and spoken English language skills
Ability and experience in designing and actively marketing tourism products and successfully addressing tourism target groups
Pleasure and experience in dealing with classic and online-based communication media
Ability to work in a team, enthusiasm and initiative
